Papilio LLA 5000, aerosol
version, is fast drying.
Shake well before use.
During application, always maintain a WET COAT. This is achieved
by keeping the nozzle 6 – 8 inches from the surface. This distance
may vary with temperature and humidity. Experiment with the distance
of the can from the surface.
Some applicators prefer to apply a dry first pass, followed
by a wet second pass. Others prefer applying several light coats,
allowing the coating to tack slightly between passes.
All techniques are valid and time should be spent experimenting
with application.
The unique nozzle used on Papilio delivers greater coverage than
traditional nozzles; hence, fewer coats are required. Many applicators
will be satisfied with just one coat.
Spraying from a further distance (spraying DRY) will result in a
dry spray and the finish may appear textured. The further away from
the surface sprayed, the drier the coat will be.
Spray Passes: one or two
Spray Pattern: one coat horizontally, followed by a second coat
vertically or two horizontal coats.
Always activate the spray before it comes in contact with the substrate.
Start the spray off the print and slowly move horizontally over
the print.
Spray beyond the edge of the print before beginning the next pass.
Each pass should slightly overlap the previous pass.
Continue spraying the forward and reverse pattern until the entire
surface has a uniform coat.
After 15 – 30 seconds begin the second pass in the same manner.
To prevent a higher build-up at the edges ("picture framing"), always
go past the edge before coming back with the next pass.
Flush nozzle by holding can upside down until no liquid coating
flows out of nozzle.
ALWAYS TEST ALL INK/ SUBSTRATE COMBINATIONS BEFORE USE.
Premium grade, high
performance, solvent-based, clear coating liquid laminate.
Maximum ultraviolet protection, abrasion and chemical resistance.
State-of-the-art ultraviolet light absorbers and light stabilizers.
Enhanced protection for inkjet print, digital airbrush print; as
well as traditional sign and graphic art substrates, pressure sensitive
vinyl, and paints.
Protection for WATER-SENSITIVE
media and output such as dye-based, pigmented, piezo and paper,
plastic canvas, pressure sensitive vinyl, banners and vinyl awnings.
Resists plasticizer migration. Ideal for use on vinyl substrates.
Non-yellowing.
Levels well to assure a smooth coating.
Flexible—excellent top-coat for banners.
Excellent block resistance.
Effective on most painted
surfaces.
Enhances appearance.
Accentuates color “pop” on pigmented and dye-based ink jet applications.
Gloss and Semi-Gloss finishes.
DRY TIME:
Varies by temperature and humidity. High humidity and low
temperature increase dry, re-coat, and pack time.
Minimum Air Temperature For Proper Film
Formation: 50° F
